TRAcKS

 This series of drawings has been made during my period of confinement, at home away from my studio and any possibility of painting. Those very simple drawings are born from a larger research about recording sound by tracks and how to inscript those on a visual medium.

As I have synaesthesia those phenomenons are very familiar to me and during this time of confinement I try to developpe a drawing praxis articulated toward very simple works where time is freely inscribed through movement by transiting through the body, simple gestures, pulling, pushing, inhaling, exhaling. It’s all about equilibrium between positive an negative spaces, there sound reverbering on a small format.

The series evolves through “tracks”: Mon0, BI, TrI, QUADrI and P0/y, each darker charcoal space being considered as a “track”.
